We identified subject and predicates and created our own. We viewed a video clip (https://youtu.be/cbSu2PXOTOc). With the crow as the subject we created predicates to describe the bird's journey!

Hola!! This week in Spanish, we talk about the Mayans and one of their largest and most important cities "Chichen Itza", please ask your child to tell you more about this story. The students drew pyramids and decorated them with beautiful colors, some built pyramids with pieces of cardboard and wood.
Here is a small explanation so you can talk with your child about it:
“In the world of the ancient Maya there were many sacred days, most often associated with celestial events. But none perhaps more widely celebrated than the Spring and Fall Equinox at the ancient site of Chichén Itza in central Yucatan.
Dominating the center of Chichén Itza and the center stage for this event is the remarkable Temple of Kukulcan (the Maya name for Quetzalcoatl), often referred to as "El Castillo" (the castle). Great sculptures of Plumed Serpents run down the sides of the northern staircase, and are set off by shadows from the corner tiers on the Spring and Fall equinox.
This twice-annual spectacle is said to have captured the hearts and imaginations of the Maya and Toltec people who once inhabited this robust ancient city.”

Learning a second language: How parents can help? .
A parent’s attitude toward language learning is crucial to a child’s success, and parents don’t always recognize the value of learning a second language in a changing world.
Why learn a language? It’s likely to help your child become a better thinker, as well as giving her/him an advantage in the work world.
Here’s what you can do to support language classes at your child’s school and language learning at home:
Help your child make time to practice. Learning a language is like learning to play an instrument.
Have your student teach you to say something in the language every day. Explaining is learning. Let your child laugh at your mangled pronunciation – and correct you.
Ask Ms. Cortes for resources your child can use at home.
Provide videos, books and music in the language.
Here are some suggestions; all the programs are FREE- GRATIS!
