Dr. Seuss Geisel, the ninth-best-selling fiction author of all time, was an American author, political cartoonist, poet, animator, book publisher, and artist who was best known for writing more than 60 children’s books under the name Dr. Seuss. During this week, as we celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday AND reading through the activities of Read Across America, listen to and locate the source of the quote from one of Dr. Seuss’s 60 books. You may use any method to locate the quote that you choose. High schoolers and elementary students, write your guess and name on a slip of paper and place it in the container in the office. There will be one winner from high school and one from the elementary drawn each day. You must have the correct original book named for the quote to win. Winners will be announced the next day during announcements and they may come to the office to collect their prizes! Our first “seuessism” is: “A person’s a person no matter how small!” Be sure to enter your guess of the book along with your name by the end of the day. The theme for tomorrow is Yipes! Wear Stripes! Day.
